Community Profile

The Town of Parker is located 25 miles south of Denver’s Central Business District in Douglas County.  The current population is just over 50,000.  Since its incorporation as a home rule municipality in 1982, the Town has principally functioned as a residential enclave of the Metro Denver region.  However, during the past decade significant growth in the region, increased transportation options and rapid growth along the southern boundary of Denver have transformed the Town into both a regional retail center and a nascent commercial area with healthcare, professional services, education, and technology sectors well represented in the employment matrix.

The Town encompasses 21 square miles and enjoys three interchanges with E-470 and three interchanges with Interstate 25.  Water, electric and gas utilities are provided by numerous private water districts, Intermountain Rural Electric Association and Xcel energy respectively. The Town is located 25 miles from DIA and less than 5 miles from Centennial Airport (the nation’s largest general aviation airport). The Town also enjoys RTD transit, call-n-ride services, and linkage to light rail transit at two stations – Lincoln Ave. and RidgeGate Parkway (2019).
